Halloween DIY with Prop House

If Halloween has crept up on you and you haven’t had a chance to get some decorations up – never fear, here are 5 simple and easy homemade decoration ideas!

  1. Creep out your neighbours with some glowing hedge eyes! All you need is some toilet paper rolls and glowsticks. Cut out some eyes on the roll – stick a glowstick inside and strategically place them in bushes and trees around your garden!

  1. Bloody handprints! Works on smooth surfaces such as mirrors and windows and easily washes off! Grab some pva glu (I feel like Neil from ‘Art Attack’) mix it with some red food colouring, dip your hands in and run wild around the house.

  1. Light up ghost garlands. Hang a string of Christmas fairy lights then simply drape a white napkin over the bulb. Place an elastic band under the bulb to make a ghost ‘head’ – draw on two eyes and a mouth and it’s simple as that!

  1. Spooky light jars. All you need is a few jam jars, some permanent markers and a dash of creativity! Once your jars are decorated either place some battery led or candles in the jars for a ghoulish glow.

  1. Floating witches hats. Pick up a few witches hats and hang them from your porch using fishing line. For an eerie glow hang a battery pack led inside the hat – simple yet so effective!

Wishing you all a super spooky Halloween from all the team here at Prop House!
